About the event
Join Horne Creek Farm for our annual Cornshucking Frolic on Saturday, October 21st from 10 am - 5 pm. The day will highlight history, heritage crafts, music, and fun!
The event is sponsored and organized by the North Carolina Living Historical Farm Committee, Inc.
Admission fees are as follows: Adults: $8.00, Children 6 - 12: $5.00, & Children 5 & Under: Free.
Heritage demonstrations and activities are sure to please every member of the family from young to old. Quilting, basket weaving, knitting, blacksmithing, a gristmill demonstration, log hewing, information on heirloom apples, cooking demonstrations, plowing, apple butter & sorghum syrup demonstrations, exhibitions of quilts and antique farm equipment, plus much more.
No pets (other than service animals) are allowed. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

There is fun and learning for the whole family! Here, you can try out some Cherokee words, taste frybread tacos, or even participate in a traditional Cherokee Friendship dance. Relax and listen to Appalachian Bluegrass or the haunting sounds of a Native American flute. Browse the traditional wares of painter, potter, weaver, beader, jeweler, fiberist, and carver.
