About the event
Summit Charter School in Cashiers, NC will hold its 3rd Annual outing on the Little Tennessee River Greenway on November 13, 2023. The school's group of students will spend the day on the Greenway and along the river learning about local culture and ecology of the region.
Activites will include storytelling by native Cherokee, Dustin Trampers, a micro-invertebrate class on the river, and a session on the history of Franklin, NC.
These educational programs will begin at 9am at the Big Bear Pavilion on East Main Street in Franklin, NC.

There is fun and learning for the whole family!Here, you can try out some Cherokee words, taste frybread tacos, or even participate in a traditional Cherokee Friendship dance. Relax and listen to Appalachian Bluegrass or the haunting sounds of a Native American flute. Browse the traditional wares of painter, potter, weaver, beader, jeweler, fiberist, and carver.
